Hansel William Vogt was born on December 17, 1931 to Hans H and Agnes E (Lammers) Vogt. He was born on the family farm near Kennard, NE. He attended Brewster School. He then began farming with his father and continued farming the rest of his life.
On January 30, 1954, he married Carol Scheer. They were blessed with two children, David and Lisa. Carol was a farm wife, always helping with whatever needed to be done on the farm.
Besides farming, he also raised hogs and cattle. He always had a large garden. He took special pride in his vegetables and took them to the county fair, he even won Grand Champion. Later in life, he would make animal lawn ornaments out of scrap metal and tires. He loved to build things like his small barn, a little playhouse and a dollhouse. He also took pride in his Christmas light display, even winning first prize in the Enterprise paper contest. He had a great love of animals, they would follow him all around the farm. He loved fishing, polka music and playing cards with friends.
Hansel is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol of Blair; son David (Cindy) of Blair; daughter Lisa of Omaha; grandson Anthony; sister Marilyn Shanks; sister-in-law Lila Fisher; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity Fellowship Hall in Blair."
