Birth: Feb. 22, 1820
Death: Mar. 7, 1914

Lathrop, Clinton County,MO. Thursday, March 12, 1914
Abner Hubbard was born in Garrett county, Kentucky, February 22, 1820 and departed this life at the home of his son I.C. east of Lathrop, March 7, 1914 at the extreme age of 94 years and 13 days. Funeral services were conducted at the Christian church of Lathrop, Sunday afternoon by Rev. Baxter Waters, assisted by Rev. W.E, Shafer, and the remains were tenderly laid to rest in the city cemetery. When a small son, Mr Hubbard moved with his parents to Madison county, Kentucky, and lived there until 1846. He then move to Ray County, Missouri and later to Clinton county, in which county he spent the remainder of his life. He united with the Christian church at Haynesville when a young man and lived a consistent Christian life ever afterward. He was united in marriage January 23, 1845, to Miss Armilda Posey, who passed from this earth September 15, 1850. To this union were born six children; Mose K., Irvin C. and Mrs Lillie Tipton of Lathrop; Mrs Mary Huffaker of Sharon, Kas., Mrs Ophella Holland of Turney and John T. who died March 23, 1904. Mr Hubbard was later married to Miss Sarah Partin, who died December 26, 1911, and to this union were born seven children; James S. and Thomas J. of King City; Mrs. Emma Tuey of Lathrop, Mrs Minnie Conway of Sebell City, Mo. Daniel W. who died July 13, 1891, and two children who died in infancy. Mr Hubbard is survived by eight children, 56 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Uncle Abe, as he was familiarly called, had a wide circle of friends and acquaintances, and was loved and respected by all. He was a man of strong personality and by his simple habits of life was permitted to live to that extreme old age attained by so very few. He was on of our old and much beloved pioneers and will be greatly missed by his many friends. We join the people of the community in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.
