|Death: ||Feb. 13, 2000|
James F. (Jim) Henry, 79, died February 13, at Kaseman Hospital after a long illness.
The only son of Thomp and Nell Henry, who homesteaded in Northern New Mexico, he grew up in Ojo Caliente, Taos, and Santa Fe.
When he was 20, he joined the US Air Corps to serve in WWII. Like so many others of his age, when the war was over he came home and built a successful civilian life.
His has been called the best generation. His wife of 50 years, Loretta, preceded him in death in 1992.
He was an underwriter for Mountain States Mutual Insurance Company for many years before his retirement in 1993, was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed ham radio as a hobby. (WB5 IYR) He is survived by two daughters and two sons, Sherrie Niedbala and husband, John Niedbala, Judy Breden, Randy Henry and wife, Jimme and Tommy Henry; grandchildren, Chuck, Jack and Kel Niedbala, Tanya Breden Fritts and Tara Breden and Nicole Henry; great-grandchildren, Samantha and Matthew Fritts.
His sisters are Clare Henry, who died in 1997 and Pat Lockhart. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Yvonne Gale and Betty Vanderwell and nephews, Roberts, Charles and James Digneo and Bill and Mike Lockhart. We would like to offer a special thank you to his primary caregivers, Pat Lockhart and Tara Breden, whose tireless efforts allowed our dad to remain in his home the last 2 1/2 months.
He was cremated.
