PARENTS: Jonathan Southwick and Hannah Osborne originally of Salem, Essex Co., MA.
WIFE: On June 5, 1766, he married Chloe A. Bartlett in Smithfield, Providence Co., RI. She is the daughter of Joseph Bartlett and Abigail Aldrich of Mendon, Worcester Co., MA.

WILL - SEPTEMBER 23, 1828:
I John Southwick of Mendon in the County Worcester, State of Massachusetts being advanced in age, calling to mind the uncertainty of this mortal life & being of sound disposing mind & memory do make & publish this my last will and testament in the following manner & form following..
1st - My will is that my just debts and funeral charges be all paid by my Executor hereinafter named.
2nd - I give & bequeath unto my son Eber Southwick, one hundred & fifty dollars.
3rd - I give and bequeath unto my son John Southwick, one dollar.
4th - I give & bequeath untoto my son Amasa Southwick, one dollar.
5th - I give & bequeath unto my son Enoch Soutwick, one hundred & forty dollars.
6th - I give & bequeath unto my son George Southwick, forty dollars.
7th - I give & bequeath unto my four grandchildren, the children of my daughter, Lucy Green dec., one hundred dollars to be equally divided between them.
8th - I give & beqeath unto my daughter Philadephia Cook, widow, one hundred dollars.
9th - I give & bequeath unto my daughter Chloe Aldrich, wife of Joel Aldrich three hundred dollars, which I in turn order should be & remain in the in the hand of my Executor, for the use & benefit of my daughter to be by them paid as her circumstances may require, if be her desire I leave at her liberty to receive the whole sum.
10th - I give & bequeath unto my daughter Wait Aldrich wife of Savel Aldrich one hundred dollars.
11th - I give & bequeath unto my daughter, Lavina S. Albee wife of Ellis Albee fifty dollars. My will is that my Executor pay the above legacies on sums of money unto the respective legatees within one year after my decease (excepting as respect to my daughter Chloe as above stated).
12th - Lastly after all above legacies are paid out of my Estate, I give & bequeath & devise unto my youngest son Daniel Southwick, his heirs & assigns forever all and any estate both real and personal & all & every part of my Estate of what name or nature to ever or whatever found. Having this dispose of my Estate. I may here mention that I have taken into view the various circumstances of my children and tha I have given & adjusted some of them to an amount as much, or nearly as much as I consider to be their portion & under every consideration I have thought it must fit to my satisfaction to dispose of my Estate as above.
I hereby appoint Moses Farnum & my aforesaid son, Daniel Southwick sole Executors to this my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty third day of the nineth month in the year of our Lord one thousand eight undred and twenty eight (1828).
Signed, sealed, published & declared by the above named John Southwick to be his last will and testament in the presence of us, who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses in the presence of the Testator.
