He was retired from the United States Air Force with 24 and 1/2 years and a veteran of the Korean Conflict and of Vietnam. He was data processing manager for the Fort Knox Federal Credit Union for 14 years and a member of Bethel Methodist Church in Brandenburg.
Mr. Benham is survived by his wife, Margie Mae Harrington Benham, Elizabethtown; a son and daughter-in-law, George Steven and Mary Benham, Houston, Texas; a daughter, Pattie Jayne Benham Boone, Humble, Texas; three grandchildren, Kimberly Alice Boone and Christopher George Boone, both of Humble, Texas, and Gayle Moon, Houston, Texas; a great-granddaughter, Celeste Moon, Houston, Texas; one brother, Harold Lewis "Luke" Benham, Brandenburg; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held September 27 from the Bethel United Methodist Church in Brandenburg with Rev. Dee Murphy and Rev. Gary Jones officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery, directed by Hager Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Bobby Brown, Buck Aebersold, David Johnston;, John Johnston, Mark Benham and Scott Benham. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Bethel Methodist Church Storage Building Fund.
