Denzil L. Proffitt, age 94, of Sevierville, passed away, Tuesday, January 10, 2017. He was a Veteran having served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlie and Edna Proffitt; son, Lynn Proffitt; brothers, Joe Proffitt and Charles Proffitt; and sister Ima Kate Williams.
He is survived by his sons, Michael Proffitt and Marty (Judy) Proffitt; daughter Janice (Don) Lindsey; daughter-in-law, Betty Proffitt all of Sevierville; brother, Roy Proffitt; grandchildren, Letisha (Tony) Hall, Kayla Proffitt, Trevor (Sam) Proffitt and Chelsea Proffitt; great-grandchildren, Lindsey Hall, Emily Hall and Maggie Mae Proffitt; also several other family and friends.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, January 12, 2017 in the Proffitt Cemetery, with Rev. Ben Whitted officiating.
