Alice Irene Diedrichsen was born on March 28, 1933, in rural Nehawka, Cass County, NE to William H. and Pearl Sarah (Murdock)Kruger.

She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1950.

She married E. W. Diedrichsen in 1951. They were blessed with three daughters. Sadly, the marriage ended in 1995.

Mrs. Diedrichsen retired from the position of city clerk/treasurer of the city of Blair, NE in 1998 after 19 years of service. She was honored by being named the state’s “City Clerk of the Year” late in her career.

She spent her later years enjoying volunteer work in the Blair area. She was a member of Grace United Methodist in Kennard, NE; the Republican Women; Blair Community Hospital Auxiliary; and Blair American Legion Auxiliary.

Alice I. Diedrichsen, 70, of Blair, Nebraska died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003 in Blair.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters and their families: Susan of Omaha; Sara and Mark Trueblood of Webster City, Iowa; Sharon and George Bradbery of Long Beach, Miss.; four granddaughters; brother and sister-in-law, William “Bill” and Evelyn Kruger of Florida; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Clara Kruger Carpenter.

Visitation 1-8 pm Sun., with the family receiving friends 6-8 pm. Services 1 pm Mon., Dec. 15, Grace United Methodist Church, Kennard. Private Graveside Services, Fairview Cemetery, Lincoln, NE. Memorials are suggested to Grace United Methodist Church Building Fund.
