BAUMGARTNER -- J. Richard Baumgartner, 77, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, died Friday, August 27, 2004. He is survived by his daughter, Patsy Baumgartner of Clovis, NM; sons, David Baumgartner of Laughlin, NV and Bruce Baumgartner and wife, Yolanda of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughter, Alexis Baumgartner of Scottsdale, AZ; brother, Jack Baumgartner of Lubbock, TX; and sister, Joan Boisvert of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Baumgartner; and brothers, Paul and Bill Baumgartner. The family would like to thank his many friends for their time and generosity. Dick was an avid golfer and patron of the arts. He was a graduate of UNM and UNM Law School; then worked as a Labor Lawyer for the State of New Mexico for most of his career and was a member of the NM Bar Association. Graveside services are Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5800 Lomas, NE, 87110, Contact: Lorraine West or to the New Mexico Special Olympics, 6600 Palomas, NE, 87109. French Mortuary 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW (505) 897-0300.
