Obituary - Harmon W. James, 67, died at a hospital here Saturday following a brief illness. He was born in Wellington, Kansas 15 Jan 1905 (sic), the son of Harmon W. and Lola Cannon James.

He was married to the former Lena Chase here in 1933. Mr. James had been a house painter for 47 years, retiring in 1962, and had been a resident here for 31 years. He was previously from Cornville.

Survivors include, besides his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Joyce) York, Skowhegan, three sons, Robert, Richard, and David all of Cornville; two sisters Mrs. Fred (Mary) Cox and Mrs. William (Blanche) Adams of South Portland, two brothers, Carl F. James of Skowhegan, and Frank James of Rochester, N.H.; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held today at 3 p.m. at the Nelson J. Smart Funeral Home with the Rev. Aubrey L. Burbank, pastor of the Centenary United Methodist Church Officiating. Burial in the Southside Cemetery, Skowhegan, Maine.

Gravesite Details

A typographical error in the newspaper obituary. Slim was born in 1901. This is recorded by his sister, Helen, who was born in 1905. It is also recorded in the Maine death records. Helen and Harmon Whitney were not twins.
