Sherry, of Lisbon Falls, passed away at Central Maine Medical Center, after a courageous battle with breast cancer, with her loving family and friends by her side.
Sherry was born a daughter of Leo and Mary (Grass) Kalinowski.
She attended and graduated from Lisbon High School. After finishing school, she joined the U.S. Marines, where she served her country for six years.
She was currently employed by Bisson Transport. She joined the Bisson team in October 2001. She held the position of outbound dispatcher till August 2004. At that time she became the driver liaison person and it was her job to co-ordinate the hiring and orientation of all new drivers.
In October, she was promoted to the freight department safety manager. Her duties involved qualifying drivers, drug and alcohol testing, log auditing, accident reporting, scheduling and recording maintenance and 90 day inspections. The duties also included the registration and IRP of all freight department vehicles. She was the representative for Bisson Transportation to the Maine Motor Transportation Association, where she served as the secretary of the safety council. She was also voted onto the board of directors for MMTA this past year. She loved her work and always put her best effort into making Bisson a safe place to work.
Her greatest joy in life was her horses and her dog, also known as her kids; Jet, Raine and Zoe. She had a passion for taking care of horses and riding them wherever and whenever she could. She was a member of the Maine Trail Riders Association. She also loved to fly; she just received her solo pilot's license in June. She was a very accomplished woman. She was a very outgoing person, and so much fun to be around, she was the life of the party.
She is survived by her parents, Mary and Henry Paradie Jr. of Lisbon Falls; her three sisters and a brother, Brenda Carr of Newella, Okla., Darlene Carr and husband, Michael, of Hedgesville, W.Va., Gregg Marshall and wife, Andrea, of Lisbon, Sonja Salvi and husband, Eric of Cheshire, Mass.; two nieces; three nephews; two great-nephews; Sherry's also survived by her companion, Chris McLaughlin of Bangor; her lifelong best friend and side kick, Sandy Craig of Lisbon Falls; as well as her many friends at Maine Trail Riders Association.
She was predeceased by her father, Leo S. Kalinowski of Adams, Mass.
