Noal E. (Budge) Albert, 82, of McAlester died Monday at McAlester Regional Hospital. Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Grand Avenue United Methodist Church with Rev. Burrel McNaught officiating. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service, McAlester. Pallbearers are Rodney Taylor, Don Lewis, Jim Albright, Wade Oss, Larry Lewis, Jon Abbott and Ron Marlow. Born February 2, 1910 in Bugtussle, to Ernest and Leona Scott Albert, he married Lorine Elizabeth (Betty) Hoover on June 7, 1935 at Perry. They lived several years in Wichita, Kans. where he owned and operated Luper Transportation Company in Wichita until his retirement in 1975 when they moved back to McAlester. He was a longtime member of the Grand Avenue United Methodist Church of McAlester and served as Sunday school superintendent for the last 10 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners of Wichita, past president of the Kansas Motor Carriers Association and an avid golfer, fisherman and hunter. Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the home; two daughters and sons in law, Judy and Ernest Hooter of Houston, Texas, and Anne and Vincent Driver of Hillsboro, Kan.; four grandsons, Christopher Driver of Dallas, Gregory, Douglas and Stephen Hooter, all of Houston, Tex.; two brothers and sisters in law, Carl and Mary Albert and Earl and Doris Albert, all of McAlester, a sister, Kathryn Peacock of McAlester, a nephew and numerous nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Homer Granville Albert; and a brother in law, Duncan Peacock. Memorials may be made to the childrens and youth ministries of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church.
