A paralytic stroke on New Year's night ended Sunday night at 8:45 o'clock in the death of Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Goff, widow of the late T. F. Goff and well known Ferry woman, in her home, 416 Hickory st. Her condition had been critical for several days.
The body was taken to the Heslop and Sons mortuary home on Walnut st., and later today will be returned to the family residence, where funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. J. E. Priestley, pastor of the First Methodist church and Rev. E. L. Grose, pastor of the First Baptist church, will officiate. Burial will take place in Riverview cemetery.
Deceased was born at McMechen, a daughter of the late Samuel and Nancy Groves. She moved to Martins Ferry 30 years ago. Last Friday was her 80th birthday anniversary. She was an active member of the M. E. church for many years.
Mrs. Goff leaves two daughters, Mrs. Evert Koerber, of Martins Ferry, and Miss Lola Goff, at home. She also leaves three grandchildren.
