Bette Lou Core, daughter of Elias Vern Stickel and Effie Mae (Wilson) Stickel was born September 1, 1929 in Truro, Iowa and passed from this life June 17, 2010 at Carson Valley Medical Center in Gardnerville, Nevada at 80 years of age.
Bette attended school in New Virginia, Iowa and graduated from Hoover High School in Glendale, California where she moved in 1946. She was united in marriage to Cecil Jean Core on September 5, 1947 in Glendale, California. They moved to Sun Valley, California in 1953 and made their home there until 1988 when the moved to Minden, Nevada.
Bette worked for Lockheed for 20 years. She and Cecil loved to travel and spend time with their family.
Bette was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Maxine Brim Wilson; brother, Doyle Eugene Stickel; and husband in 1997. She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Steve Core and wife Linda of Coarsegold, California; granddaughters, Stephanie Chappel of Oakhurst, CA and Kelly Core of San Luis Obispo, CA; sister, Ruth Knizley of Clarinda, Iowa; sister-in-law, Charlotte Stickel of Des Moines, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
