Bruce was the son of Frederick Ernest Poynter Aldrich & Jesse Sophia Watson Aldrich, both of England. He arrived in Ontario, Canada with his parents and sister Muriel Hope Aldrich as his father was assigned there by the British Government. Bruce was the oldest sibling of

Captain Bruce served WWI, Co.F, 104th Supply Train, 29th Division. He travelled extensively as an official with Standard Oil Company. He was a member of Maryland Guard American Legion Post No. 35; Balimore Post No. 1, Twenty Ninth Division Association and a Master Mason.
