Services Sunday for Blair Woman’s Father

Funeral services were held Sunday, December 12, at Gregory United Methodist Church in Gregory, South Dakota, for Roscoe Maurice Blake, 885, who died December 8, 1982 at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

The Rev. Steven Ziebarth conducted the services. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery at Gregory, South Dakota.

Roscoe Maurice Blake was born January 16, 1897 at Butte, Nebraska, to Charles E. and Fannie White Blake. A retired rancher, he moved from Gregory to Blair in 1974.

He married Gladys Viola Jernberg. She preceded him in death.

Three sisters also preceded him in death. He is survived by one son, Duane Blake, Fort Collins, Colorado; and three daughters, Jessie Christopher, Blair; Mavis Bowen, Los Alamitos, California; and Twila Kumm, Eugene, Oregon. Nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive him.

Barbar Urriutto was organist. Betty Fogel was vocalist.

Pallbearers were Rick Blake, Gary Christopher, Don Larson, and Dennis Soesbe.

Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
