John Howard died at his home in Troy Saturday, February 2. He was 65 years of age. He was born at Marine and spent his entire life farming. He was the son of Nelson and Ella Howard of Marine. When a young man he was married to Elizabeth Kline, and to this union ten children were born. One son preceded the father to the grave who died in infancy. Those who survive are his wife and children: Simon Howard, Hillsboro; Lena Dagon, Hillsboro; Ester Nelson, Chicago; Lee Howard, Hillsboro; Ben Howard, Marine, Viola McCain, Marine; Allen Howard, Zanesville, Ohio; Geo. Howard, and Gilbert Howard, Troy: one brother and six sisters, Martha Zelers, Old Ripley; Mary Manville, Marine, Lavina Kinder, Chestnut; Netta Middleton, Oakland, Cal.; Roda Shorek, Edwardsville; Cora Aldrup, Worden and Louis Howard, Selena, Okla.
