Rosa Vermadell Hughey, or Della as she was known, was the daughter and first child of Dr. William Allen Hugey and Lois Smith. In September, 1876, at the age of 15, she married James Henry Womelduff at her parents home in Belle Rive, Jefferson, IL. They were married 51 years. In 1902 James and Della moved their family to Kansas City, MO. James died at their home on Askew in Kansas City, MO in 1927. Della died of pneumonia in Globe, Arizona in 1930 while visiting her son, Neil.
