Violet C. Butler was born to parents Mose and Bertha LaBounty in Bimidji, MN, on Mar. 20, 1921. The LaBounty family moved to Tacoma when Violet was three years old. Violet attended Stanley, McCarver and Lincoln schools in Tacoma. Her business background was primarily in the retail field. She was involved in home decorating, furniture restoration and cultivating a beautiful garden, as well as being a very competent homemaker. Violet is survived by her husband Jerrold, daughters Mischel Jensen (Ron), Sheryle Jensen, stepchildren Kathleen Nass (Roy) and John Butler, sister Yvonne Riley (Walter), sister-in-law Myreta LaBounty, grandsons Eric Jensen, Christopher Jensen (Erika), Lee Jensen Jr. (Stacey), granddaughter Colette Godsoe (Bruce), son-in-law Lee Jensen Sr., and great-grandchildren Joel Godsoe (USMC), Ashley Godsoe, Tyler Jensen and Taylor Jensen. She is preceded in death by brother Larry LaBounty, sister Evelyn Porco (Tony) and Sigurd Thorsen. Services for Violet will be at Mountain View Garden Chapel at 10:00AM Friday, December 22.
