Ivan Ray Christmas, 73, of Evansville, died Monday, December 18, 2006, at VNA Charlier Hospice Center. Ivan was born on November 12, 1933 in Evansville, Indiana.

Ivan was of the Protestant faith and former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Darmstadt, Ind. He worked at International Harvester, Vandeveer Incorp., Burrough's Corp., and then was the owner of Tri-State Systems (a TAB Products Company) for 33 plus years, specializing in records management. Ivan had been a past sergeant in the National Guard. He was a member of Eagle Valley Men's Club, Clear Crest Pines Men's Club, American Legion Eugene Pate Post, and the Kennel Club. Ivan enjoyed working, playing golf, traveling, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. In his early years, Ivan enjoyed hunting.

Ivan was preceded in death by his wife of 20 years, Karen Christmas, in 2001, and his parents, Arvel Ivan and Anna Marie (Lutz) Christmas.

He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Butler and husband, Rhett of Parker, Colo.; daughter, Shelley Wargel and husband, Bob of Evansville; stepson, Robby Elikofer and wife, Sheryl of Evansville; stepdaughter, Kim Reason and husband, Ray of Evansville; grandsons, Heath and Garrett Butler of Parker, Colo., Jason Elikofer and fiancée, Amanda Osbourne, Justin Elikofer, and Brandon Bergner; granddaughters, Ashley and Chelsea Wargel of Evansville, and Makenzie Livingston; and a devoted cousin, Nancy Decker.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2006, at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Leroy Dilger, Hospice Chaplain, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to service time at Alexander North Chapel. Published in the Courier Press on 12/20/2006.
