STEPHEN CLARK, age 88, of Hobart, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011. He was born on July 1, 1923 to David and Pearl Clark in Clark County, Illinois. Stephen moved to Valparaiso where he worked at a CCC Camp then went into the US Army where he served 4 years in WWII. Upon his return he married Helen Truth, who preceded him in death. He worked as a trucker for 20 years and then became a lifetime member of the Operating Engineers Local 150. Stephen enjoyed traveling anywhere he could camp and fish. He especially enjoyed going back to the family farm in Illinois. Stephen was a special man and will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his 2 sons, Jim (Linda) Clark of Rockville, IN and Bradley Clark of Wheatfield; 2 daughters, Sharon Clark of Richmond, TX and Janette Clark of Portage;8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Jean Lambert and June Clark of Markleville, IN; other loving family and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Jenny Clark; Joseph Clark, Dean Clark, James Clark, Violet Powell and Geneva Clark.
A funeral service for Stephen will be Friday, October 21, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart with Pastor Richard Brown officiating. Burial will follow at McCool Cemetery in Portage.
