Whitmer Casto, 81, passed away Nov. 22 at Barberton Citizens Hospital.

He was born in Belgrove, W. Va., and lived the past 50 years in the Akron area. Mr. Casto retired in 1972 from Goodyear Aerospace after 33 years service, and was a member of the Akron Baptist Temple, where he served as an usher. He was a member of Victory Lodge 649 F&AM and a 32nd Degree Mason Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Akron.

Preceded in death by daughters, Patsy Casto and Betty Stiles, brother Donald, and sister, Freda Anderson, he is survived by wife of 47 years of marriage, Louise; daughter and son-in-law, June and Eddie Parsons of Norton, daughter, Ruth Stauffer of the City of Green; son-in-law, Chuck Stiles of Akron; six grandchildren, nine great-gandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Glenver of North Canton and Ray of Belgrove, W. Va.; sisters, Sybil Harper and Helen Casto, both of Belgrove, W. Va., Mabel Simmons of Steubenville, Ohio, and Alla Fields of Maryland.

Funeral service Wednesday, 11 a.m., at the Hopkins Lawver UNIONTOWN Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale St., one block northwest of the square of 619 and Cleveland Avenue, with Rev. Howard D. Powell officiating. Burial at Hillside Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 TONIGHT, where Victory Lodge 649 F&AM will conduct Masonic service at 6 p.m. The family requests memorials to the Hospice Visiting Nurse Service, 1200 McArthur Dr. Akron 44320, or the City of Green Paramedics.
