George W. Holt, age 79, of Newport, passed away Friday, September 9, 2016 at his home.
He was a member of the St. Tide Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Artell Holt; daughter, Renee Holt; father, Tom Holt; mother, Nannie Bea Holt; brother, Quinton “Stick” Holt; sister, Ruby Gunter; and father-in-Law, Kenneth Walker.
He is survived by his sons, Mike (Peggy) Holt of Parrottsville and Scott Holt of Newport; brother, Jack Holt; grandson, Josh Holt of Newport; granddaughter, Dena Penticuff of Rhea County; great grandchildren, Brailyn James, Easton and Kinleigh Whitlock; and step grandchildren, Brad and Joe Dodgin.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Monday, September 12, 2016 at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Zane Stuart, Rev. Willie Winters and Rev. Dennis Caldwell officiating. Burial will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, September 13, 2016 in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday prior to Funeral Service.
