Funeral for Irwin Donnell was in the First Baptist Church. Burial was in the Albany Cemetery.

Mr. Donnell, who was 54, died in the Veterans Hospital in Big Springs. He had been ill some four months.

William was born Feb. 21, 1912 in Eliasville and came to Albany with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Donnell, when a boy and spent most of his life here. He moved to Anson some eight years ago.

He was a veteran of World War II, entering the service on March 11, 1941, and receiving his discharge Oct. 14, 1945. He served with the field artillery throughout the European campaign and his service ribbon has five battle stars.

He died in a VA Hospital. His death certificate says he was born 1911, however, his stone says 1912.
