LUDLOW - Frederick Paul Jelley, 81, died peacefully at Springfield Hospital, Wednesday night, September 5, 2007.

Fred was born July 14, 1926, the son of Alfred and Alta Jelley, youngest of 11 children.

He was a World War II veteran.

He was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards and dabbled in watercolors.

Fred was loved by many and truly enjoyed his time with family and friends. He was well known around town as "Half Cup Fred."

Calling hours will be held at the St. James Methodist Church in Proctorsville, Vt., on Saturday, September 8, 2007, between 6-8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at St. James Methodist Church, Proctorsville, Vt. Service to be officiated by Pastor Ken White. A reception will immediately follow the funeral service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fletcher Memorial Library, Ludlow, VT, Attn: Jill Tofferi; or Ludlow Ambulance Service, Ludlow, VT.
