Mr. Addison was the author of three books: "Write that Down for Me, Daddy," "RFD #3," and "Mama was a Con Man, Papa was a Christian." He was also a popular speaker throughout the South. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps on Iwo Jima during WWII. He was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church for 40 years and served as a deacon.
He was preceded in death by a son, Harry W. Addison, Jr.
He was survived by his wife of 62 years, Lillian Coates Addison; three children, Kathy Schendle, Judy Moore and Mark Addison; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
