One of my husband's fellow prisoners, when in Winchester, Va, Edward Penington, departed this life sometime last night.

Edward Penington married Sarah Shoemaker, dau of Benjamin & Sarah (Coates) Shoemaker, on 11mo/Nov 6, 1754 at Philadelphia Mtg. Their marriage certificate is extant and contains an informative list of witnesses.
Edward Penington, merchant of Philadelphia, left a Will, signed 1 Feb 1794, proved 4 Oct 1796, PA Will Bk X, pg 495 et seq.
He named his wife Sarah, his surviving children Isaac, Edward, Mary, Ann Smock; Brother Isaac Penington; Gr-dau Sarah Smock; Sisters: Mary Smith, Sarah Bessonet; sister Sarah's children Ann White, John Bessonet, Sarah Dickinson & legacy to Three Monthly Meetings of Women at Philadelphia. His Will is extant.
