Officer Jordan was a Chicago native, who served six years with the Colorado Springs Police force and specialized in DUI cases. He was a consummate professional with an impeccable record and strong work ethic. Ken graduated from Western Illinois University in 1998, went on to work for the Colorado Springs Police Department, a job he sought partly because of his desire to be in Colorado. He was hired by the Colorado Springs Police Department on January 18, 2000 and was awarded the status of Police Officer upon his graduation from the CSPD Training Academy on May 21, 2000. His field training occurred in the Gold Hill and Falcon area commands and he became a member of the Sand Creek area command on December 24, 2000. He competed and was ultimately selected to serve as one of eight DUI officers on the Colorado Springs Police Department and entered that specialized position on February 15, 2004 acting in his role as a DUI officer at the time of his death on December 5, 2006. As a result of his strong work ethic and his unwavering commitment to the citizens of Colorado Springs, he made 584 DUI arrests. In his leisure time he would be known to drive five hours to put a kayak in the water and he also loved tennis. He was also a good marksman who liked going hunting with his dad, and was a fearless outdoorsman. He was 32.
