By his marriage to Sarah Sims, Samuel had children Nancy, Bertie, Mary, and Thomas Lafayette Snapp (1884-). Sarah died in childbirth in 1884, and Samuel soon remarried to Susan Haggard, who gave birth to twins the following year (1885), and died at that time: Alma and Alvis Snapp. (NOTE: Alvis died in Apr 1886)
Samuel died the next year (1886) and left these children orphaned.
