From his obituary: Wm. Addison Maberry died at his home near Woody, Tuesday, Aug. 9, at 9:30 a.m., aged 35 years, 6 months, 13 days. The funeral service was conducted at his residence yesterday morning at 10 a.m. by Rev. R. J. Church of this city, and the burial was at the Maberry Cemetery.
Mr. Maberry had been in poor health for two or three years, and spent a part of last year in Florida. His condition was not considered serious, however, about two or three weeks ago, when he left to quit work in the field and go to the house. He was never able to go out.
According to our best information, he was afflicted with a severe stomach trouble, and the worrying over his business affairs and rush of work on the farm was too much for him.
Mr. Maberry was the only son of Judge Wm. Maberry and his wife (Georgeann Ellen Trimble)of Woody. He was well-know in Carrollton and all over western Greene county, as an honorable young man, energetic, sociable, accomodating and thoroughly reliable in all walks of life.
He was married Oct. 17, 1886, to Miss Emma Greaves, who, with three daughters, survives him. The children are Lela, aged 10, Edith, aged 9, and Dimple, aged 8. Mr. Mayberry will be greatly missed by hundreds of friends n the community where he was born and raised. The relatives from a distance who were present at the funeral were John Gibson, a brother-in-law, John Barnett, and George ?, a cousin.
