Mr. Barbour was a storekeeper at Purdue University for 12 years, and before that did press-setup for Lafayette Printing Co. A World War II veteran of the 8th Air Force, he served as a first lieutenant and was a prisoner of war. He was award the Purple Heart and Distinguished Cross for his service. He was a member of Linnwood Church of Christ, American zlegion Post 11, and Masonic Lodge 123.
Surviving are a son, David L. (wife Glenda) Barbour of Prosperity, SC; two daughters, Madonna (husband James) Speck of Trego, WI, and Margaret (husband Lynford) Ellett of Kemmerer, WY; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a brother, Robert Harbour; and sister, Evelyn Long.
