Shirley Anne Fisher Saginaw, Michigan

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016, age 87 years. She was born on November 26, 1928, daughter of the late Thomas and Jenny (Russell) Guttridge, in Saginaw. Shirley married Bernard Fisher on November 27, 1948, he predeceased her on October 2, 2000. She retired from AT&T after many years of service and was a member of the Michigan Bell Pioneers. Shirley was a member of Ames United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time at the cottage with her family, going on the traditional "Guttridge Girls" annual trips with her sisters and spending time with her grandchildren whom she loved very much. Surviving are her children, Jean (John) Sedlik, Sally (Robert) Federico, Steve (Mary) Fisher and Michael (Carolyn) Fisher; her grandchildren, Chris (Mary) Warner, Jamie Warner, Robert (Samantha) Warner, Anthony (Jennifer) Federico, Amy Ventimiglia, Jason (Shawna) Fisher, Adam (Susan) Fisher, Macy Fisher, Maya Fisher, Michael (Amber ) Fisher and Nikki Fisher; 26 great grandchildren; her sister Flo Alever; her very special friend, Jo Mertz; also many other relatives and friends. Besides her husband Bernard and her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her son, Ross Fisher, her sisters, May Shreve, Joie Groom, Jean Brandimore and Betty Wendling; her brothers, Bill and Tom Guttridge.

Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Douglas Mater will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning and expression of sympathy may wish to consider Ames United Methodist Church.
