Jason B. Whitney (alias for Jason B. Foote) enlisted as a Private in Independant Company of the Fourth Michigan Volunteer Infantry on February 27, 1864, for 3 years service. He was on detached service with Company F of the First Michigan Infantry, by order, July 2, 1864, Petersburg, Virginia, and transferred to Company K of the Reorganized Fourth Michigan Infantry, by order, June 6, 1865. Jason was honorably discharged to date July 3, 1865.
