He was an ordained Baptist minister and pastored 7 churches in Blount and Knox Counties for many years. He was a true servant of the Lord and witnessed many souls saved including his three children. Dad would say, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith".
Rev. Sparry is preceded in death by his wife Nina Davis Sparry; parents, Lee Roger and Minnie (Calloway) Sparry; sister, Quilla Sparry Nix and brothers, Lee and Billy Sparry; step-grandson, Matthew Snyder.
He is survived by his son, Roger Ezell Sparry and wife Sandra Sparry; daughters, Evelyn Sparry Harper and husband Andrew Neal Harper, Linda Sparry Blair; grandchildren, Michele Blair Headrick and husband Ben, Lauren Blair Click and husband Jason; great-grandchild, Skyla Click; step-grandson, Marvin Snyder and wife Tracy; step-great-grandchildren, Ethan, April and Savannah Snyder; and several adopted great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will leave Atchley Funeral Home at 1:15 PM Sunday in procession to Laurel Grove Cemetery (Walden's Creek) for graveside service and interment. Rev. Don Davis will officiate.
