DAVIS -- Services for Freda O. Allen, 83, will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, in the Central Church east of Davis with Bro. Thomas Thompson and Allan Dale officiating. Interment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery under the direction of Hale's Funeral Home.
Born on Jan. 1, 1923, in Meridian, Texas, to Allford M. and Bertha F. Lindsey Thompson, she died on Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, in Decatur, Texas. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Keith Allen; her parents; and a sister, Faye Hudson. She and Herman C. Allen were married on Sept. 14, 1939, in Meridian. He preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 1998.
Freda was active in the Davis Senior Citizens Center and was a loyal member of TOPS. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was game to go anywhere and to do just about anything her family wanted to do. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include three daughters, Jan Davis, Sulphur, Brenda Bell, Davis, and Pam Haskell, Springtown, Texas; two sons, Ricky Allen, Duncan, and Randall Allen, Davis; a brother, B.E. Thompson; three sisters, Loucille Oliver, Mary Owen and Louise Young; 21 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Bearers will be Bobby Webb, Mike and Ryan Haskell, Jeffery and Derek Allen, Jimmy Salter, Buddy Vinyard and Jackie Don Sadler. Honorary bearers are Randy Moore, Pete Byrd and D.O. Salter.
