Voracious collector of bird skins, eggs, and nests. His collection was said to include 53,000 skins in 1950 when it was transferred to the Field Museum in Chicago where it resides today. His eggs, nests, and a small number of skins are held by the Yale Peabody Museum in New Haven.
Co-author of "Birds of Connecticut" in 1913.
Elected as Fellow of the AOU in 1901.
