During the Spanish Civil War his mother died in a bombing raid, an experience that marked him profoundly. His many works include "Elegías a Julia Gay," "El Retorno," "Algo Sucede," "Final de un Adiós," "Salmos al Viento," "Claridad," "Del Tiempo y del Olvido" and "Como los Trenes de la Noche."
