Pierapont Howe
Pierapont L. "Ponty" Howe, 90, of Roseville, formerly of Astoria, died at 9:53 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at OSF Saint Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.
She was born Nov. 6, 1911, in Isabel Township, Fulton County, a daughter of Thomas E. and Grace Long Howe.
Surviving are one brother and two sisters, including Melva Bucher of Orlando, Fla.; and 13 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
She had worked as a caretaker and was a member of Summum Christian Church.
Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Ken Peterson officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Astoria Public Library or Astoria Rescue Squad.
