Son of George Wilkie Sr. (b. Scotland ca1835) and Louisa Scott (b. England ca1835). They emigrated to Stearns County, Minnesota where the first four of nine known children were born. Sometime in the mid-1860s they moved to Middlesex County in Ontario and lived in Lobo Twp. and in London and had five more children in this area. The 1891 census has them in Hamilton, Ontario.
