Monte M. Farrer, age 86, of Ioka, Utah, passed away July 19, 2016, at his home surrounded by family.

He was born May 1, 1930, in Provo, Utah, to John Ernest Farrer and Minnie Leonore Rasmussen Farrer. He married the love of his life, Hazel "Wynette" Smith, on August 27, 1947, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Monte will be remember as a long time Utah restauranteur, he worked at, owned and operated many operations in his 70 year career, including 15 years as the first Sundance Head Chef.

Mostly, he will be remembered as a dutiful husband who serve his loving wife throughout her life, a good son and brother, a good neighbor, friend, dad and grandpa. He always had time for someone who needed his help no matter who or when it was. He was faithful member of the LDS Church, especially when there was a need to flip eggs or bake a pie.

He is survived by sons: Rick M. (JoLyn), Russell K. (SuzAnne), K. Frederick (Sara), Steven R. (Valeska Draucker); a daughter, Rebekka ( David) Johnson; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years; daughter, Monette; sons, Jeffery Lynn and Tony Ross; and a grandson, Benjamin.
