Jim was born on March 9, 1929 at the family home in Finch, MT the son of Robert C. and Bonnie C. (Rogers) Ross. He grew up in the Finch area and was educated at the Finch and Howard Schools and later finished his education at the Forsyth High School. Following his schooling, Jim joined the United States Navy where he served his country well until his parents needed him to return to the family farm. On November 1, 1950, Jim was united in marriage to Betsy J. Daniels in Forsyth, MT. To this union, two sons were born Rod and Ronny. Jim and Betsy made their home in Forsyth where he worked at various farms and ranches throughout his life. Jim enjoyed being outside gardening, fishing, going hunting, being with his horses, raising cattle, branding as well as playing cards. Most of all Jim loved and enjoyed his family.

He is survived by his wife Betsy, two sons Rodney L. and Ronny J., his mother Bonnie, all of Forsyth, four sisters Dorothy Tallent, Dixie Kenney and her husband Dennis all of Forsyth, Patsy Jordan and her husband Robert of Texas and Mary Jo Younglund of Forsyth. Jim is also survived by his three grandchildren Chad Ross of Washington, Jasa Jo Fulton and her husband Jim of Shepard, and Scott of Texas and one great-grandchild Brayden, as well as his nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 29, 2003 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Forsyth. Burial will be in the family lot in the Forsyth Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 28, 2003 from 1:00 until 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth.

Memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.
