RUTH JOHNSON HOWELL passed away on November 16, 2006 in Conroe, TX. She was born in Moselle, MS on June 7, 1915. She was preceded in death by her husband Amos Howell, her parents, Lee and Elizabeth Johnson, her sisters, Geraldine Coker and Bertha Johnson and her grandson, Robert Michael McWilliams. Ruth accepted Christ and was baptized as a young girl. Her home church was Central Baptist Church in Springhill, LA. She devoted her entire life to her only child Betty McWilliams Lormand and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her much joy. Her entire working career of 40 years was spent at International Paper Company located in Springhill, LA. Those left to cherish her memory are Betty Lormand and husband Leroy of Montgomery, her grandchildren, Mark McWilliams of Houston, Rebecca McAfee Wheeler of Houston, Carol Jordan and her husband Steve of Montgomery, Virginia McWilliams, wife of deceased Robert McWilliams. Her great-grandchildren are Christopher Jordan and wife Callie of Crockett, Michael Jordan of Nacogdoches, Sam Jordan of Montgomery, Kristen Wheeler of Houston, 1st Lt. Shane McAfee USMC and Meryl McWilliams of The Woodlands. Her surviving sisters are Louise Moody and husband George of Satsuma, Alabama and Berniece Pyle of Kilgore. Special nieces Katherine & Joyce Coker of Garland, Barbara Blasingame and husband Ray of Houston, Laura Olejnik and husband Mike of Houston and numerous other nieces and nephews. Special friends are Eugene Eason of Springhill, LA and David Eason of Houston, and Alice Stagner of Montgomery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday November 18th at Metcalf Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Sunday November 19th at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel at Metcalf Funeral Home. There will be a private graveside service on Monday November 20th at 4:00 P.M. in Springhill, LA.
