Mr. Jones, retired and a resident of Bastrop, passed away Thursday November 9, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and an U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and a 32 degree Mason. He is preceded in death by his parents, Percy & Lizzie Dear Jones; and stepmother, Aylene Jones.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bessie Jones; daughter & son-in-law, Pat Dew & Larry Dew; granddaughters, Robin Herrington & fiancee James Wiggins, Ginger Hackler & husband Donnie, Pam Gentry; great grandchildren, Josh Banks, Mallory Banks, Savannah Hackler; siblings, Earcell Daniels, Helen & Alvin Price, Betty Jo & Paul Clay, Jeraldine & Dexter Watson, Kay Andrews, Harold "Bunkie" & Moira Jones, Dianne & Allen Nettles, Linda & Travis Rawls, Brenda & Ricky Goodman; stepmother, Marie Jones Sorey; aunt, Ruth "Tuts" Jones.
