Bob proudly served his country during World War II in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1946.
He was united in marriage to Carol Jean Kammerzell on October 25, 1961, in Denver, CO.
Bob was one of 78 living composers with at least 300 published and/or recorded works by major companies. He has been a member of ASCAP for the past 32 years. In 1964, his album "Songs of Living Faith" was nominated for a Grammy Award by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. He recently had 17 songs published by Alliance Publisher.
Survivors include his wife, Carol; son, Kevin Ashton and wife, Julie; two daughters, Cynthia L. Conger; and Rebecca Estes and husband, Scott; seven grandchildren; brother-in-law, Donald Kammerzell and wife, Roseann.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jack and Graydon Ashton.
Burial in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.
