Born in Honaker, VA she was the sixth of 13 children of the late John and Cora Boyd Ball. She was born and raised on Ball Knob on Lewis Creek in Honaker and had lived in Honaker most of her life. She passed away at her home in Honaker. A 1938 graduate of Honaker High School, she was a wonderful God-fearing mother and friend to all who knew her. She was known for her love of family, flowers, gardening, outstanding cooking and her involvement with the Swords Creek Senior Citizens. She was a member of the East Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church. She and her husband had been blessed to travel to all 50 states.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Clyde Ball, Glen Ball, Ayers Ball, Ben Ball, Harold Ball and Kenneth Ball, and two sisters, Mamie Ball Anderson and Margie Ball Herndon.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, J. Frank Reedy Jr. of the home; four daughters, Janice Church and her husband Jim of Fredricksburg, Carolyn Scott of Martinsville, Cheryl Kincaid and her husband Mark of Yorktown and Dawneda Burks and her husband Doug of Cedar Bluff; one son, Lynn Reedy and his wife Janis of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren, Trina Church Cole and Bradley Church, both of Fredricksburg, Michael Church of Cameron, N.C., Sheri Scott Gregory of Ridgeway, B.J. Scott Jr. of Lynchburg, Chris Reedy and Carrie Reedy of Oak Ridge, Lisa Kincaid and Travis Kincaid, both of Yorktown, Andy Burks of Charleston, S.C., Kelly Burks Webb of Gate City, Jenny Burks Pruitt of Roanoke and Hannah Grace Burks of Cedar Bluff; 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Lucy Carver, Frances Nelson and Mildred Ball, all of Bristol, and Edith Ball Hanson of Lebanon; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family also survive.
