Soldotna resident, June Elaine Green, 85, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna.

At her request, no services are planned. Her cremated remains will be scattered on the Becker homestead near Crary, North Dakota.

June was born July 3, 1930 in Crary to Wilbur and Marie Becker. After graduating from high school, she moved to Los Angeles, Calif., where she worked for 18 years at the Los Angeles Times newspaper. In Aug. 1968, June came to Alaska, living several years in Anchorage before moving to Soldotna. She and her husband, Bob, were co-owners/operators of the Kenai River Lodge. Following the 2005 sale of their business, she retired.

After retirement, she devoted her time to motorcycle riding, as a co-rider, and traveling with her husband.

June was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Lois Bublitz and Claudia Cruse Davis, brothers, Gerald and Clifford Becker, sister-in-law, Lana Becker and stepson, Terry Robert Green.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Lee “Bob” Green of Soldotna; seven stepchildren and their spouses; 13 step grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Becker of Devils Lake, North Dakota; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Shrine Children’s Travel Fund, Alaska Shrine Center, 1930 E. Northern Lights Blvd., Anchorage, AK 99503.
