Funeral services for Martin R. Heit, 86 of 217 South Linn Avenue, are to be held Tuesday, April 29, at 10:30 in the St. Mary's Church in New Hampton with Msgr. J.J. Olinger officiating. He died Saturday, April 26, in the Saint Joseph Community Hospital after a two months illness.
Heit was born February 25, 1896, the son of William and Margaret (Papenheim) Heit, in Chickasaw County. On January 19, 1926 he married Cecilia Susan Gerber at the St. Boniface Church in Ionia Iowa. The couple lived in Elmhurst, Ill. for five years before moving to New Hampton.
Heit, a retired carpenter, was a veteran of WWI and a member of the St. Mary's Church.
Heit is survived by his wife, and preceded in death by two sisters and seven brothers, and is to be buried in the St. Mary's Cemetery in New Hampton.
Pall bearers are Ray Heit, Jerome Heit, Ralph Heit, Bernard Heit, Melvin Heit and Norman Heit, all of New Hampton.



To find the grave; enter in the main gate, drive 2/3 of the way to the 'T' intersection, grave will be about 20 foot to the left.
