Bio of Ora C (Hoffstetter)-Yancey was born December 1, 1881, Armstrong, Howard County, MO to Peter Augustus Hoffstetter and Louella Fennell. She married Elbert Harold Yancey of Armstrong, Mo, and they moved to Kansas City between 1920-1930 where she resided until her passing. She bore 3 children, a daughter whom died young, and two sons, Edwin Ray and Elbert Harold, Jr.
She lived a very long life, passing at age 97 peacefully and with no prior illnesses, on February 24, 1979. She was a religious woman, who loved to cut scriptures out of the newspaper and put them in a scrapbook. She was a most loving Grandmother to Sondra, Sharone and Steven, often spending time with them, including a summer while her son and daughter-in-law were stationed with the Army in Waco, Texas.
