Pedro was a Native American born at ranchería Yelamu in the San Francisco Bay area. He was a 4-year-old orphan when he was baptized and assumed his Christian name at Mission San Francisco (Dolores) on August 28, 1777 (SFD Baptism 00015). Pedro died at the mission when he fell into a large pot of simmering atole. He was buried in the mission cemetery on October 20, 1777 (SFD Death 00009).
