Dean Arthur Dohe was born in Ellsworth, Ks. on February 11, 1937 with his twin brother Dale Robert Dohe, to Benjamin Walter and Amanda Marie (Walker) Dohe of Vesper, Ks. He was baptized in the home of his Grandparents, Barney and Caroline (Feldkamp) Dohe on March 14, 1937. On July 2, 1950 Dean was confirmed int eh Emmanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church south of Vesper.
Dean's mother passed away in October, 1941 when Dean and Dale were only 5 years old. Ben later married Dorothea Wacker in January 1949 when the twins were 11 years old.
Dean graduated from Vesper High School in 1955 and enjoyed playing baseball and basketball. Dean spent his early life rowing to adulthood with his family on the farm south of Vesper.
In April 1957 Dean and his high school classmate, Carrol Lee Feldkamp, enlisted together in the Army. Dean was stationed in Germany and discharged in March, 1960.
Dean and Brenda Renee Karstensen were married February 11, 1962 in the Denmark Lutheran Church. Their three sons are Brian Arthur, David Paul and Roland Eugene.
Dean spent many years in the trucking business at Walker Products, Lincoln; Graves Truck Line in Salina and Denver; as a partner in R&K Trucking i Limon, Co., and finally with Dohe Trucking in Limo.
Dean enjoyed attending the sports and music activities of his three sons and looked forward each summer to helping with harvest in Lincoln County.
