Thelma Bernice Hill, 92, formerly of the Schell City and Walker area, was born Dec. 6, 1913, in Nevada, Vernon County, Missouri, the daughter of Lemuel and Hettie (Fox) Strader. She passed away Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at the Cornerstone Village in Pittsburg, Crawford County, Kansas.

Thelma attended school and was a graduate of Harwood High School. On Nov. 17, 1936, she was united in marriage to Gordon Hill. To their union one son was born. For 30 years, Thelma worked at Key Industries in Nevada. Through the years, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting and flower gardening.
After retirement, she and Gordon retired from the farm to a home in Walker. They were both members of the Schell City First Baptist Church prior to moving their memberships to the Walker Christian Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers and sisters; her husband, Gordon, who passed away in 1988; her son, Larry, who passed away in 2004; and her daughter-in-law, Nita Kay.
Survivors include her three grandsons - Larry Alan, James Douglas, and Steven Gordon; two step-grandchildren, Jeremy Michael, and Jennifer Denice; her sister, Dorothy; her daughter-in-law, Sharon; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Services were held Tuesday, Oct. 31, at the Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home, Schell City, with Bro. Tim Brewer officiating. Musical selections were provided by Rachel Kunkel, Diane Eslinger and Larry Applegate.
Interment was in the Green Lawn Cemetery, Schell City, under the direction of Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home, Schell City. Pallbearers were friends and family.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer¹s Association.
